Fees
The classes cost R100 per term per child. Each term generally consists of 8 or 9 lessons. We need to charge fees for the classes to cover the costs of renting the classrooms and materials needed to run the lessons. During the break time we have a roster system set up whereby the parents can bring food and snacks for the children. Each parent would generally bring something once a term or so – and it doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive. There are guidelines attached to the roster when parents sign up as we don't want to be feeding the children sweets and junk during these breaks, but rather prefer healthier options like fruit or popcorn.
There are means of financial assistance available and parents interested in this option are requested to speak to Ariel (082 990 7066). It is very important to us that the school be comprised of children from a diversity of backgrounds - racial and socio economic - so that the children can learn to interact and form friendships across these barriers that hold us apart in modern day society. We promote diversity as much as possible in the school as it is after all the fourth item in the mission statement and there is no better way to learn about diversity than to be in a environment that itself is diverse. For this reason we will make absolutely sure that financial issues do not become a reason why a child cannot attend.
